Tuesday Trivia with Matt - Episode 130
During Double Down Week, I definitely dared you to define dictionary D-terms! Also in Episode 130, you had to select the symbolic schnoz, and pick the perfectly pitched piece (of music). It was a lot of random fun, and 15 teams joined in the action. Welcome to The Haha’s who are officially the 20th team in the Fall Season League!
A few notes after reviewing and confirming the scores for this week:
For the 7-letter verb meaning “to become steadily less”, Alex did accept “decline” and “deplete” in addition to the word I had in mind which was “dwindle”. So if you said any those answers, they were already included in the scores I announced live at the end of the show.
Two teams had a great guess for the 10-letter verb meaning “to free from illusion” when they guessed “demystify”. Great word… but it is nine letters. 😝
There were two teams that had slightly adjusted scores after confirming correct answers that weren’t included in last night’s live score report, so you may see just a few small changes. This includes The Re-Trivia-ers who should have been awarded two points for a correct answer that was missed, which put them in a tie for second place with The Uneducated! Well done!
This weeks champs, with a perfect doubled music round, are the Crafty Tiger Bitches! Congrats! 🏆
In addition to a solid second place this week, The Uneducated also won the random wheel spin and earned an extra slot on our end-of-season prize wheel tonight. 🎁 Every week that your team completes the game, you earn an entry for prizes and at the end of the season. I will continue to track each team’s total prize wheel entries (including the extra ones won by a weekly wheel spin) in the last column of the season scoreboard. It continues to go to a new team every week! Who will win it next week?
“The Alex Award” for this episode goes to This Is How We Know We're Petty! Petti! Petté! They had a bit of a rough go at the Dictionary Day round. So much so, that by the time we got to the 14 letter word, their guess was “Duuuuuuuuuuude”. 🤣 (Count it… it’s 14 letters!) All those u’s really emphasized how they were feeling.
You’ll see on this week’s season leaderboard, I have recolored the columns of the Double Down weeks to differentiate the episodes when there are 120 possible points.
Also, based on the votes in the Zoom chat and on the survey, it looks like we will do a special Trick or Treat Trivia episode on Tuesday, November 1, the Day of the Dead!
