Tuesday Trivia with Matt - Episode 128
“Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer” they say… Well our Tuesday Trivia with Matt teams proved that wrong last night! In honor of “National Ask a Stupid Question Day” I asked some stupid and potentially tricky questions and you all saw right through it, with some high scores in round one!
We had 14 teams play in episode three of the Fall Season League, and I thank you all so much for tuning in. Welcome to the fun Velma’s Glasses who joined for the first time this season.
The full scoreboard for this week’s show is below and you will notice that there has been a bit of movement that is different than what was announced at the end of the show. I made some corrections to the scores that ended up giving all the teams affected more points! 🙌 One team emailed me with an answer discrepancy (always allowed if you feel you can justify your answer!) so all teams that gave that answer were awarded points. Also, there was a miscommunication between Alex and I about how to score the third list of the beer round… and he gave all teams one point per correct ingredient in the Reinheitsgebot when I had told everyone you would get two points… so more points for many of you! YAY! That is reflected not only on the weekly leaderboard, but also on the Fall Season Leaderboard.
Congratulations to Crafty Tiger Bitches who must have been well rested from their week off because they had a seven point win over the 2nd place team. GREAT JOB! 🏆Due to the corrected scores, we actually had a tie for second place with Brochuters + 1 and Making Good Answers. After a string of 11th and 9th place finishes, Making Good Answers made the podium! Well done!
The random wheel spin winners tonight were Three Halves of a Whole Idiot who earned an extra slot on our end-of-season prize wheel tonight. 🎁 Every week that your team completes the game, you earn an entry for prizes and at the end of the season. I will continue to track each team’s total prize wheel entries (including the extra ones won by a weekly wheel spin) in the last column of the season scoreboard.
I really expected this week’s “The Alex Award” winner to come from Round 1 with all the stupid questions, but you all were too smart to fall for that! This weekly award, as decided subjectively by my husband and scorekeeper Alex, goes to the funniest or worst wrong answer of the week. This week’s winning team really swung for the fences during Round 4. In honor of Johnny Appleseed, the round was all about famous people who have food items in their name. They did pretty well during the round, but for the three they did not know they guessed: Rachel Guacamole, Bobby Hamburger, and (Alex’s fave) Grace Hamsandwich. Congrats Velma’s Glasses for giving Alex (and me) the best laughs of the week!
