Tuesday Trivia with Matt - Episode 127
Something in the atmosphere just felt GOOD during last night’s episode of Tuesday Trivia with Matt! Everyone brought great energy to the Zoom, and I had a BLAST! I hope y’all had as much fun as I did.
Thanks to the 14 teams that showed up for this episode! And I’d like to officially welcome teams Alternative Facts, Campbell Soup, and The Trinidad Gang to the Fall Season!
During this week’s show we played a round called “Sets in the City” that had teams matching TV dramas to the US cities that there were set in. Our “Royal Titles” music round played tribute to Queen Elizabeth… and then we honored World Mini Golf Day with a round of questions involving golf and “mini” things. I really gave the teams a brain workout in rounds four and five as I had you doing both math AND word puzzles. I thought those rounds were going to be tough, but they ended up being the highest scoring rounds of the night for all the teams! JOB WELL DONE, EVERYONE!
Congratulations to Brochuters +1 for being the top scorers of the night, for the second week in a row! They are off to a strong start for the season!🏆 Just one point behind them was team Hot Ass Soup, and with that strong performance they moved from 9th to 3rd on the overall season leaderboard. Nice work! The other team in the top three so far this season is Threat Level Midday. Those three teams have each logged 200 or more points in just two episodes. Incredible!
Moving forward, I decided I would do two separate scoreboards with these updates: a weekly scoreboard and the overall season leaderboard. It was becoming much to try and put all the information into just one chart. Both of the scoreboard can be found below.
Congratulations to team Zillenials who earned an extra slot on our end-of-season prize wheel tonight. 🎁 I will continue to track each team’s total prize wheel entries in the last column of this season scoreboard. Remember, every week you come and complete all five rounds of the game, your team gets another entry to win some really cool prizes at the end of the season.
That brings us to this week’s winner of “The Alex Award”, the award for the funniest wrong answer of the game, as decided by my husband and scorekeeper extraordinaire, Alex! This week’s winner falls into the “oof. you were so close.” category. You know when you’re trying to dust off the files in your brain to come up with the right answer, and you almost find it, but not quite? That is what happened to team Central Adams this week. The question was: What was the name of the actor who played Mini-Me in the Austin Powers franchise and also appeared on reality shows The Surreal Life and the British Celebrity Big Brother? The correct answer is Verne Troyer… and Central Adams had “Troy Verner”. OOF. So close it hurts!
