Tuesday Trivia with Matt - Episode 177
It was the penultimate episode of the Fall League this week… and if I thought things were heating up before, well now they are HOT. 🔥
This week’s episode included a tribute to Mario Lopez (who is Mexican, if you didn’t know 🤣) and a fun video round of movies featuring characters singing in the car. Oh… and one of my favorite, punniest round suggestions ever received came to fruition: a potpourri round that was actually about potpourri / dried flowers. Whoever gave that round suggestion… you deserve all the flowers!
Let’s start off this week’s blog with our winner of The Alex Award, because its a good one that gave both Alex and I hearty giggle. In the Mario Lopez round, the questions were about people named “Mario” or “Lopez” and one of the questions was about chef, writer, (and accused misconduct offender) Mario Batali. One team answered “Mario Botticelli”… and it was comical to think that the chef may have also created the world famous painting The Birth of Venus. 😂😂😂😂 Congrats to Kristin of Allll Byyy Myselffff for having the best wrong answer of the week!
This week had some BIG scores which lead to some BIG shakeups on the leaderboard. First, lets get to our weekly winners:
🥇 Crafty Tiger Bitches had a near perfect score of 118, just missing one question all night! INCREDIBLE!
🥈 Jeremy Bearimy had one of their best weeks of the league with 112 and second place!
🥉 The Re-Trivia-ers took third place with 109 points. Congrats!
🏅 Just Neighbors was just one point behind The Re-Trivia-ers 108. What a strong top four this week!
☸️ With it being the final week before the finale, I was in a giving mood and decided that half of the teams would get extra prize entries, so we spun the wheel seven times! Those bonus entries are reflected in the scoreboard below.
Now, when I mentioned earlier that the competition was HOT. I meant it. Like hot-hot. Like just ONE POINT BETWEEN THE TOP TWO TEAMS HOT! I couldn’t believe it when I updated the leaderboard. With their strong performance last week, Crafty Tiger Bitches have jumped BACK into the top spot by just one point over Just Neighbors. It is truly going to come down to the final week of play to see who will be the champions this year. These two teams were in a photo finish during the 2022 Fall League and it is happening all over again. I am on the edge of my office chair!
There is currently a very close race for for the 4th place spot too between Threat Level Midday and High School Musical, The Musical, The Series, The Team Name who are separated by just two points! Who will make the fourth and final spot of our podium? Or will The Re-Trivia-ers sneak in with their seventh score of the season and spoil it for both of them?
Next week is our Fall Season Finale, and it is going to be jam-packed with fun! Here’s what you can expect:
