Fall Trivia League Update: First three episodes!

Hi friends!

First off, a big THANK YOU to the 16 teams who have joined us to participate in Season Four of the Fall Trivia League so far. Without you, we wouldn’t be in the FOURTH season of the Fall Trivia League. I am so grateful for all of you!

The first three episodes have been full of fun, friendly competition, and fabulous scores!

Below you will see the cumulative leaderboard through the first three episodes, followed by weekly scoreboards for the first three episodes. During league play, I always take the time to review all of your answers to ensure that all points are awarded accurately. Alex does an GREAT job doing live scoring during the episodes… but I like to ensure that no points fall through the cracks. There have been a few instances where I’ve updated points and you may have a different total than what was announced live, but so far this season it has only happened a few times and they all resulted in MORE points for those teams. 😊

🤣 THE ALEX AWARD 🤣

One of the most fun elements of the Fall Trivia League is The Alex Award. My husband and scorekeeper-extraordinaire gets the chance to pick his favorite wrong/close/funny answer each week to be recognized. Here are the first three winners:

  • Week 1, Episode 270: During the music round, we featured “Feels Like the First Time” by Foreigner. Team 4 Peas N a Pa submitted the artist’s name as “The Treblemakers” from Pitch Perfect, which Alex appreciated because he says that is the version he always thinks of for that song too!

  • Week 2, Episode 271: This episode featured a visual round of famous Puerto Ricans, including Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. Crafty Tiger Bitches made Alex laugh with the name “Soto Mayor” as a first and last name. Ha!

  • Week 3, Episode 272: The Alex Award for this episode went to Jenison Jeniuses & Friends for an answer during the music round. It featured mariachi covers of famous songs, including “Hotel California” by The Eagles, which Jenison Jeniuses & Friends guessed “Livin’ La Vida Loca” by Ricky Martin. This was particularly funny because during the famous Puerto Ricans round just one week prior, they guessed Enrique Iglesias when the answer was Ricky Martin! They were just one week late for getting points for Ricky Martin!

After the first three weeks of competition, here are the top four teams based on cumulative scores:

🥇 Food for Thots is on top so far with 338 including a PERFECT SCORE during week three. Wow!

🥈 Tied for second place are Elevated and Threat Level Midday, both with 323 points. Who will pull ahead after this week’s episode?

🏅 Fourth place so far is High School Musical: The Musical, The Series, The Team Name with 318 points (narrowly edging out Three Halves of a Whole Idiot who are just one point behind them with 317)

For taking the time to read this, I want to reward your team with an extra prize entry for the end-of-season prizes! All you need to do is comment on this blog post before the start of Episode 273 and including your team name. Squarespace has default fields for email address and website URL, but you can just leave those fields blank (they aren’t required). Scroll to the bottom below the scoreboards to see the comment section. THANK YOU!

Thanks everyone! See you Tuesday for episode 273… the FOURTH episode of SEASON FOUR!

💜Matt
