I’m feeling FOURtunate that we had sixteen teams tune in this week (that’s FOUR times FOUR) for the FOURth episode of Season FOUR of the Fall Trivia League! All teams that have played so far were in attendance for this episode, adding some new scores to the cumulative tallies. Let’s do a quick recap.

The rounds this week included:

Determining historical events that occured four score, four decades or four years ago
Audio clips by musical groups that have four members, featuring their songs that have four words in the title
A 2000’s TV round featuring synopses of fourth episodes of the fourth season of popular television series
A final punny round where teams had to guess the nursery rhyme or children’s song based on four images
AND… a very special round called “Fred’s Friends” featuring famous Freds, Freddies, and Fredericks. This round was to celebrate the FOURteenth birthday of Fred, the team cat and mascot of Food for Thots!

The Fred round also gave us our winner of The Alex Award for this episode… and it was written in the kitty litter that it would go to Fred’s team, Food for Thots… and even during the Fred round! One of the Freds in this round was American country and Tejano singer Freddy Fender, best known for his 70’s hit song “Before the Next Teardrop Falls”. Mr. Fender is featured in the header image of this blog. Team Food for Thots made a very funny educated guess of “Freddie Prinze Sr.”, which earned them a giggle from Alex and this week’s Alex Award!

May this Fred themed round also serve as a reminder to submit your shout-outs for team members who are celebrating things! They might just get a whole round theme inspired by them! 😊

There was one major scoring update after I reviewed Alex’s live scoring from last night. It appears that the nursery rhyme “Five Little Monkeys” is known by a variety of numbers and not just five! Some people have heard it was 10 monkeys, or 3 monkeys or even 0 monkeys. Alex originally only gave points to the teams that answered 5… but after doing some research I found that there are many different versions so I decided to give points to any teams that had an answer that included the words “monkeys” and “jumping” regardless of the monkey total. 🐵 Some teams will see an increased score because of this!

Below is the weekly scoreboard as well as the cumulative leaderboard after Episode 273. Congrats to the top four teams this week:

🥇 Threat Level Midday was back on top during this episode with 114 out of 120! This moved them firmly into second place for the season so far.

🥈 Second place went to Food for Thots with 112 points, which keeps them ranked first overall for the season.

🥉Third place went to Central Adams who had their first weekly appearance on the podium this season with 109, moving them up a spot on the cumulative leaderboard!

🏅 After a week away, the Crafty Tiger Bitches came back strong with a score of 108 and fourth place on the weekly scoreboard.

The cumulative scoreboard is also updated with the extra prize entries that were earned this past week! Four teams commented on the blog, earning them a bonus entry…. and team Go Us won the wheel spin for the second time this season! They have participated in two episodes this season and have won the wheel spin both times! *high five*
