Episode 274 Recap- Halloween Week!
We celebrated Halloween Week during episode 274 of Tuesday Trivia with Matt… and our fifth week of competition in Season Four of the Fall Trivia League! It is hard to believe that we are past the halfway point in the season already!
Some of the tricks and treats in this week included:
How to say “Day of the Dead” in ten different languages.
Songs with “boo” in the title
A new format that you’ll see again “That One Character from That One Thing”
A potpurri round featuring answers with “RIP” in them
and a test of your candy logo knowledge with a wrapper ransom note!
As I reviewed the answers and scores for the week, I noticed that I tricked several teams (unintentionally) by including the Destiny’s Child song “Bug-A-Boo” in the music round, when many of you guessed “Bootylicious”! Who knew there were so many “boo” options by Destiny’s Child?!?
Also in the music round, one of the songs was “Lil Boo Thang” by Paul Russell. Team 11th Place = First Place Twice guessed the artist as “Paul” and Team Elevated guessed “Russell”. You needed your powers combined!
Alex had several notes for his selection of The Alex Award for this episode. Two honorable mentions came from the same round and question: That long-haired girl who crawls out of the TV in that movie about a cursed video tape. 11th Place = First Place Twice guessed “Pantene Pro V” and Allll Byyyy Myyyselfff + Mom guessed “Cousin It”. 🤣 But Alex’s top choice and winner of the award this week goes to 4 Peas and a Pa. It was almost spooky how they prognositcated what was to come one round in advance… because right before round 3, titled “That one character from that one thing”, they guessed a music artist in round 2 as “that one artist”. You played right into my hand, and into the giggles in Alex’s heart because he picked you!
There were a few minor scoring adjustments, meaning your team’s overall score may be one or two points higher or lower than what was announced live. The updated weekly scoreboard and cumulative leaderboard are below. Also, the “prize entry” column is updated through the first five weeks, including blog post comments from last week’s blog.
Speaking of blog comments and extra prize entries… with Halloween behind us and as we have our first episode of a new month… what sort of round formats would you like to see me include this week? Not necessarily round themes… but rather, the type of questions. Do you want a common bond round? Anagrams? Music covers? Post your requests below, and I’ll do my best to include some of them… and just for suggesting a format I will give your team a bonus prize entry (be sure to include your team name in your comment!).
Congrats to the top four teams in this week’s episode:
🥇 Food for Thots
🥈 Three Halves of a Whole Idiot
🥉 Elevated
🏅 And a tie for fourth place between Jeremy Bearimy and Threat Level Midday
Thanks everyone! It was SO great to have 17 teams for our Halloween show. I’d love to see you all back this week for episode 275!
