Episode 277 Recap- Season Four’s Penultimate Episode!

This week, thank you for hanging with me while I was not at my most healthy or energetic. I am grateful that by the end of the show, I was feeling better than the beginning! I think that is due to the good vibes and love that all of you bring to the show every week. I appreciated your kind well wishes in the chat. I’m on the mend!
We still had quite a fun night of trivia! Round one’s apple varieties was the most challenging of the night, despite being a 50/50 round. We had many perfect scores in the music biopic video round. And lots plenty of laughs together during the “Shelf-ish Mistakes” round with book titles that had been changed by one letter.
There weren’t many changes to Alex’s live scoring, and the final scoreboards are below. Now that we’ve played eight shows, I dropped the lowest scores for teams who have played more than seven episodes, and it has made things VERY TIGHT at the top of the cumulative leaderboard! It is certainly a nail-biter, with the teams currently in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th separated by a spread of just five points! Teams in 5th and 6th place are also still within striking distance of making that final podium of the season! The finale is going to be SO EXCITING!
We also have our last weekly winner of “The Alex Award”. Alex had a few honorable mentions that made him giggle:
11th Place = 1st Place Twice made him giggle in round three with famous hat wearing characters. We featured “Raiden” from Mortal Kombat and they put “Ray”. Alex said it was funny because, and I quote, “it insinuates they're tight like that”. 😂
Jenison Jeniuses & Friends also made Alex chuckle with their answer in the changed book titles round, when To Kill a Mockingbird was transformed to To Kiln a Mockingbird. Their answer was “How To Kiln A Mockingbird” which he envisioned as a mash-up of the book title with the TV series “How To Get Away With Murder”. (don’t worry, he still gave you the points!)
🏆But the winner of the last weekly “Alex Award” is team Go Us, with an answer that also came in the changed book title round. The answer we were looking for was “Where the Wild Thongs Are”, but they guessed “Stranger Thongs”. 🤣 Bravo! Hilarious!
