Episode 278 Recap- The FINALE!

Over Thanksgiving weekend, I was able to gather with some friends, and one of those friends (who plays TTWM) was sharing how much fun she had during the finale episode. She mentioned feeling a rush of happiness, and how she felt connection with all of the teams across the country even though she doesn’t know many of them. 💜💜💜💜 My heart was full. It was so nice to hear that a participant was feeling the joy that I felt while hosting!

Last week’s finale wrapped and I was on a natural high! It was so nice to see the love in the chat, and to see all the wonderful charities and organizations that you wanted to support with your prize winnings. We are truly a special community of trivia lovers who also love helping good causes… and I am so lucky and fortunate for all of you participating week after week. Sincerely, from my full heart, I thank each of you. 💜

The finale episode scores really did mix things up a bit! I knew it was close between spots 2 though 6, but I wasn’t expecting the shake-up that occured! A few teams had their highest score of the whole season, making a dramatic sprint to the finish. The point spread between 3rd-6th was just 10 points after 9 weeks of competition. Whew! I did make a few corrections to the points after our live announvement, but none of that impacted the order of the teams that placed 1st-4th and won the donation prizes. The full leaderboard for this week’s episode and the cumulative leaderboard for the season are below.

Before we get to the kudos for our season champs, we need to acknowledge the winner of the season’s “Alex Award”! Alex revisited all of his weekly winners along the journey and picked his favorite. He chose week 7 winner It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood on East Jackson Street with their answer of “Cauillo (Kiyou)” during our cartoon theme song week. Not only were both of their spellings wrong, but the answer was entirely incorrect! 🤣 They will recieve a special TTWM ornament with their Alex-Award-winning answer printed on it!

I’d like to acknowledge all of the teams who participated in the finale, once again, and showcase the charities or organizations that they chose to support:

16th place (303): The Help, supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation

15th place (514): It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood on East Jackson Street, supporting Hospital Egbe

14th place (619): Go Us, supporting 2Paw Robotics

13th place (638): Jenison Jeniuses & Friends, supporting Meals on Wheels of Western Michigan

🥇1st place (791): Season Four Champions FOOD FOR THOTS, winning a $104 donation to Planned Parenthood! Congratulations to Paige, Kyle, Jordan, Kate, Lance, Dani and Dustin! You were truly a trivia force this season! BRAVO!

We also added up all the prize entries that teams had accumulated over the season and turned those into perfectly-portioned wedges on our prize wheel. We spun it four times for four more winners! Here they are:

11th Place = 1st Place Twice, winning a $24 donation for the Dallas Fort Worth Humane Society

Peas N a Pa, Allll Byyy Myyyselllfff + Mom, and Go Us all won a prize pack with two new merch items: a TTWM mini-tumbler (that doubles as a shot glass!) and a light up holiday ornament!

Speaking of… those items are now available on in the TTWM Shop! Check out the shop page to see the listings as well as some of the fan favorites that are still for sale. As most of you know, many of our merch items are made by Jean of the Crafty Tiger Bitches (thank you Jean!) so they are made to order… and many of them have customization options! In order to ensure that these items can be produced and in your hands by the holidays, we ask that you please place your orders by 11:59pm ET, Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

And EVERYONE who gave me their mailing address on the survey during the finale episode will be getting a super cute Season Four trophy sticker! I can’t wait to mail those out to you.

THANK YOU for another great season! I appreciate each of you for participating and supporting our show!

💜Matt
