Episode 322: TTWM Fall Trivia League

We welcomed back the Jenison Jeniuses this week, making our TWENTY-FOURTH team to join the Fall Trivia League! WOO HOO! 🙌

Leaderboards & Points Update
There were a few point adjustments this week after double-checking Alex’s live scoring.

The most sweeping adjustment came in round four, our celebration of Dictionary Day. This year we featured J-words to celebrate TTWM’s biggest fan, Joe! One team mentioned afterwards that I should have titled the round “Joe-cabulary” and I am so mad I missed that opportunity! Ha!

I was quite excited to use the word fun word “jaunty”, which four teams did get. There were ten teams who guessed “jovial” based on the definition. After a strong defense from Kristin from Alll Byyy Myselfff + Mom + Jason, I decided to award half points (1 instead of 2) for that answer… so the other nine teams can thank Kristin for rebutting on your behalf! 💜

“The Alex Award”
This is Alex’s opportunity to pick his favorite wrong answer of the week. And this week’s winner seems a bit suspicious (like maybe they were intentionally trying for The Alex Award) as they were the only team to get this particular answer incorrect. But at the end of the day, it truly was the funniest answer, so they deserve it.

During our “S-Capade” world capitals round, I asked teams to identify the s-named nation based on its world capital city. Early in the round, I featured the captial city of “Stockholm” and this team’s guess was “Syndrome”. 🤣 Well played with the s-word! With that, Alex picked Go Us as his winner this week. Congrats Cat for holding it down for your team this week!

As an aside, you all REALLY wanted Sri Lanka to be an answer in that round. That was by far the most popular incorrect answer of the round (and the night) with over half the teams guessing Sri Lanka for five different coutnries that you didn’t know the capitals of.
